Description The original catalog description provided by the Ford Motor Company reads as follows: 1. Liberty Bell at Liberty Loan Rally. Children with flags seated in grandstand - speakers platform with Liberty Bell - speakers address audience - parade with bands, Liberty Bell in decorated float, cavalry in dress costumes, soldiers line parade route - Liberty Bell transferred to decorated railroad flatcar with sign, ‘Philadelphia.’ 2. Winter Sports. Reindeer - horse-drawn sleds - spectators on skis. 3. Award Presentation Ceremony. Official signs and presents awards to a sailor and a soldier - all pose for photographers. 4. Representative Joseph G. Cannon of Illinois. Cannon poses on Capitol steps in Washington, D.C. 5. James B. Angell, beloved president emeritus of the University of Michigan who passed away at his home in Ann Arbor on April 1, 1916. Dr. Angell held the presidential chair for 40 years, 1871 to 1911. 6. Third Liberty Loan. Detroit goes Over the Top. First big city to exceed her quota in Third Liberty Loan [1918] is awarded the Liberty Loan Flag. John W. Staley, Chairman, presents the flag to Mayor Marx for the city. Military bands on steps of city hall - flag presentation ceremony - flag is raised over city hall. 7. Vegetable Oils for Europe. Men inspect barrels labeled ‘Palm Oil,’ ‘Coconut Oil,’ and ‘Olive Oil.’ 8. Ice-Making and winter Sports. Plant interior with workers operating ice-making machinery - ice-skating rink - workers smooth and hose ice - attendants help women put on ice skates - group, single and pair ice skating - ice hockey game between unidentified teams.
